What is a Foot Health Practitioner?

Foot Health Practitioners are the primary point of contact for foot care concerns and maintenance. They can effectively address various conditions and, when needed, direct you to a General Practitioner or Podiatrist for further treatment.

Michelle Roberts Footcare offers comprehensive treatment for common foot conditions, including nail care, verrucae and corn treatment, callus removal, and diabetic foot care.

Foot Health practitioners can also assist individuals with mobility or flexibility challenges, or those lacking sufficient hand strength to use nail clippers.

Many individuals regularly seek the assistance of a Foot Health Practitioner to provide the foot care they are unable to manage independently.

Some of the main advantages are:

  • Effective foot health care

  • Enhanced overall health

  • Better mobility

  • Cost-efficient

What is the difference between a Foot Health Practitioner and a Podiatrist?

Podiatrists, previously referred to as Chiropodists, are certified professionals specialising in various aspects of the lower limb. They have the expertise to identify problems related to the bio-mechanics and mobility of the lower limb and create custom orthotics. Additionally, they are skilled in conducting minor surgical procedures for conditions like ingrown toenails.

If you require general foot care, you should consult a Foot Health Practitioner.

As a fully qualified Level 4 Foot Health Practitioner, I have completed my training at the College of Foot Health, which is accredited by the Institute of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. I am also in possession of an up-to-date DBS certificate and have comprehensive insurance coverage.
